Valeria Cesanelli is the managing attorney at Cesanelli Law PLLC d/b/a Divorcio Latino, a bilingual family law practice based in Apex, NC. Since 2013, she has served more than 900 Latino families across all 100 North Carolina counties in divorce, legal separation, equitable distribution of marital property, child custody, child support, paternity, post-separation support, alimony, domestic violence protective orders (DVPO), and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) custody proceedings. She earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 2012, where she served as a research assistant to Professor Deborah Weissman in immigration, human rights, and gender-based violence. She has been licensed in North Carolina since 2013 (Bar #45735). She is the author of "Representing Immigrants in Family Law Cases in North Carolina" and "Culturally Sensitive Best Practices," both published through NC Advocates for Justice. She has served as CLE Committee Vice Chair (2019–2021) for NCAJ. For several years she participated as a legal advisor in the Mexican Consulate’s External Legal Advisory Program (PALE), providing free legal guidance to Mexican citizens in the United States.
